Sir Paul McCartney has made the President-elect an offer too good to pass up: he wants to sing for Michelle Obama.
"I think sincerely he is the man for the job. I think it is a legendary occasion and I wish him the very best," McCartney told Britain's Sky News backstage at the MTV Europe Music Awards Thursday night.
"I hope to get the opportunity to sing ... to his wife. I have a little song ready for him," the former Beatle said.
Asked what tune he has in mind, McCartney purred the start to one of the most famous songs of the '60s: "Michelle."
McCartney, who picked up the Ultimate Legend award
at the event in his hometown of Liverpool, declared the election had turned out to his liking.
"I was so 'fingers crossed' he would win it," said McCartney. "I'm so chuffed."
