Costner and his band played a private show for about 200 people Monday night at the Stage as he joked to the crowd that he realized many of them were drawn by his Hollywood fame, not his musical chops.
"I know there's a curiosity factor," he said. "I get it. And I'm just as surprised to see you!'

Costner, 53, strummed an acoustic guitar as the band rolled through a dozen plus songs – mostly from their debut album, Untold Truths, out Tuesday – over the course of an hour and a half."It's very sweet that you'd sit here and listen to songs you don't know," he told the enthusiastic crowd, which included his wife, Christine – who is expecting the couple's second child – and country legend Tanya Tucker. "Thank you."
The band began its week in Nashville on Saturday night in a more rarefied venue: the Grand Ole Opry. "The privilege was not lost on me," said Costner. "I was very nervous. I thought it was going to be dark like this in there but they had all the lights on and it was like being in a cafeteria!"
