Lizzie McGuire is back! Well, not really, but Hilary Duff, the actress who played her on the hit Disney series, is coming back to TV. NBC announced Friday that they've signed the actress to a one-year deal to star in her own series as well as appear on some of their current shows.
Variety reports that the star will meet with network writers to "comb through" the network's development projects to find something she likes.
"Hilary is an incredible versatile talent with a huge following whose career we know will continue to soar on NBC," says Teri Weinberg, Executive Vice President of NBC Entertainment.
Duff, 21, is already a one-person industry. The Texas native has a
thriving musical career, with four albums that have sold 13 million copies worldwide. Her clothing line is Stuff by Hilary Duff and she has two perfumes out under the Elizabeth Arden label.
