In honor of World AIDS Day on Monday, Bono launched the digital music service (RED)WIRE, the music offshoot of his (RED) charity, featuring exclusive songs from Jay-Z, Dixie Chicks, The Killers, Coldplay, Sheryl Crow and more.

Subscribers pay a $5 monthly fee and the proceeds are split between the artists and the purchasing of medicines for AIDS victims in Africa.

"I have no doubt that some of the music software we are working on at (RED) will help change the way music is received," says Bono, "and change the lives of Africans who will die without the AIDS drugs." – Jessica Herndon
