The film, The Runaways, which will depict the 1970s all-girl band's meteoric rise and fall, is being executive-produced by the 50-year-old singer – best known for the hit "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Stewart, who is reprising her role as Bella in the sequel New Moon, is slated to start filming The Runaways in 2009 while working around her Twilight commitments.
