British adventurer Bear Grylls may have met his Mother Nature match.

Grylls, famous for his survival skills on his Discovery Channel hit Man vs. Wild like eating raw fish and drinking his own urine, fell and injured his shoulder on Friday during an Antarctic expedition to promote alternative fuels.

The adventure was unrelated to his TV show.

On Sunday, Grylls headed to the U.K. to get medical attention.

"Bear has a strong religious faith and a loving family to help speed his recovery," Discovery said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Bear as he makes the long trip back to the U.K."
