Carol Alt has always been able to work a bikini, but she insists that during her modeling heyday, "I didn't look or feel half as good as I do today." So what's the secret to her fitter-than-ever physique, which Alt, now 48, flaunts as Playboy's December cover girl? After years spent "starving" to stay camera-ready, Alt adopted a strict raw-food diet in 1996. By sticking mostly to foods like uncooked veggies, sashimi, beef carpaccio and raw milk cheeses, "I dropped 12 lbs. in two weeks," she says. "Then my body started changing and I got tight." But what really gave her the daring to bare all: dating much-younger hockey pro Alexei Yashin, 35. "That," she says, "takes confidence!"
