Dane Cook's Relative Accused of Embezzling Millions
The half-brother of comedian Dane Cook has been accused of swiping millions from him, and has already appeared in court, the Associated Press reports.
Darryl McCauley, 43, who worked as Cook's manager and as part of Cook's Great Dane Enterprises Inc., will be arraigned on Wednesday at Woburn District Court in Massachussetts.
McCauley has been accused of diverting money to his own personal accounts from Cook's business accounts during 2007 and 2008. Authorities alleged that McCauley forged a $3 million check to himself out of Cook's funds.
Cook, 36, most recently starred with Kate Hudson in My Best Friend's Girl and in Dan in Real Life. His comedy album Retaliation went double platinum.
