Brad Pitt Sets Record Straight on Jen Vs. Angelina

Forget any potential catfight between Brad Pitt's former wife, Jennifer Aniston, and his current partner, Angelina Jolie, the actor says in a new interview.

Despite Aniston's recent comment to Vogue in which she called Jolie "really uncool" for revealing how she (Jolie) couldn't wait to go to work with the married actor on Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Pitt tells the February issue of W magazine, "Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there's a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It's so created."

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star, 45, also says of Aniston, "We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don't see how there cannot be [that]. That's life, man. That's life."

As for his take on what took place with Jolie off-camera during the 2004 Mr. & Mrs. Smith shoot, he says, "What people don't understand is that we filmed for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn't mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn't."

He adds, "I'm very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. It will, that's all."
