Randy Jackson to Simon: Date Someone Your Own Age
Randy Jackson has a little relationship advice for his American Idol colleague Simon Cowell: Be more modest.

"Dude, if you keep showing these shots on the jet ski baring your chest you're not going to find the right girl that way," Jackson says during an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show set to air Tuesday. "Simon, dude, he needs the right girl."

In fact, Jackson jokes with DeGeneres that an intervention is in order.

"We should take him out to a nightclub and just see how he navigates," the Idol judge says. "His social skills need some work."

Adds DeGeneres: "He is a nice guy once you get to know him but I don't see him going out and going, 'Hey how are you?' He doesn't put himself out there."

And Jackson has one more piece of dating advice to the single Cowell, who turns 50 in October: Find someone your own age.

"We should find someone for him," a cheeky Jackson says, "someone his age though – 60 and above."

American Idol returns for its 8th season Tuesday on FOX.
