The President-elect hasn't been absent from the party circuit, either: Barack and Michelle Obama (and their daughters Sasha and Malia), enjoying a "warm, informal evening" with 90 family and friends, including Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King, at Blair House. Guests enjoyed a soundtrack of jazz music provided by the Paquito D'Rivera Quintet and a buffet dinner. As the adults chatted, "the kids were running around just being kids," Charlie Fishman, the executive director of the Duke Ellington Jazz Festival who assembled the quintet, told us. Says Fishman: "The energy in the room was amazingly positive. It was a very down-to-earth event."
