It's not only the stars turning out for the history-making inauguration of Barack Obama – they're bringing along their children.
walked the red carpet holding hands with her daughter, Emerson Rose, at Sunday's Huffington Post gala at the Newseum. "I'm really excited," said Emerson, 11. "It's just, like, so amazing how history's being made right now. It's really important."
Added her mom: "Whether we're standing a mile away and actually see anything or not, I feel like it's a day she'll remember sharing with me 20 years from now."
David Arquette said that he and wife Courteney Cox Arquette
plan to take daughter Coco to the Inaugural parade – though the actual swearing in is "a little cold" for the 4-year-old to withstand.
"And you're standing out there for so long. We're gonna get her, and go to the parade," David Arquette told PEOPLE. "Well get a little Obama hat or something for her."
Not that everyone brought along the younger generation. Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz
told reporters that wife Ashlee
was home with baby son Bronx, born Nov. 20
"I'll explain it to him, and someday, he'll believe his dad was here," said Wentz.
