Long before Grey's Anatomy's McDreamy began melting hearts at Seattle Grace, George Clooney had fans swooning over his bedside manner as Dr. Doug Ross on the long-running hit series ER.
Could Clooney's return to County General for the medical drama's final season make for a scrub match between to the two TV docs?
"No, no, no," says Patrick Dempsey, 43, who spoke to PEOPLE before competing in the Rolex 24 at Daytona auto race, where he announced that top fundraisers in 2009's Avon Walk for Breast Cancer will win a trip to meet him. "There’s no competition. He’s always handled himself in such a great way."
"I’ve heard a lot about how he behaved on the set and after the show," adds Dempsey of Clooney, 47, "and I think there are a lot of things to learn from him."
