Lowe, who split from ex wife Hilary Swank in 2007, will welcome a baby with producer Kim Painter in early summer, his rep said in a statement, adding "The couple is overjoyed and could not be happier."
Last year, Lowe told PEOPLE that his relationship with Painter and his gig on 24 helped him get through "a very dark period" after his split from Swank.
