David Archuleta Will Sing National Anthem at Pro Bowl

David Archuleta is the latest American Idol alum to show off his patriotic chops when he sings the National Anthem at the NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday.

"[It'll] be my first time in Hawaii! Woot woot!" Archuleta blogs on his MySpace page. "That means more sunshine."

The 18-year-old singer says a church commitment prevented him from seeing Jennifer Hudson's performance on television – but he heard it.

"I called my friend to listen to Jennifer Hudson sing the National Anthem over the phone lol," the singer wrote. "It was so good! Jennifer has pipes! I watched it on YouTube later."

The Idol Season 7 runner-up kicks off his 20-city solo tour on Feb. 24 in Virginia Beach, Va.
