The high ponytail has a lot of pull these days as stars like Angelina Jolie and Kate Bosworth transform the casual do into an elegant evening look. The style is "sexy and fresh at the same time," says Jeffrey Paul, who created Freida Pinto's pretty pony recently for a Los Angeles event. To keep the look clean, hair should be "polished but not greasy," says Paul. "Use little product to avoid an oily finish."
HOW TO STYLE:
1. Blow dry the hair in a backward motion with a medium-barrel boar-bristle brush.
2. Add a dab of smoothing cream or pomade and sweep hair into a high ponytail close to the crown of the head, using an elastic ponytail holder.
3. For a finished look take a small section of hair, wrap around the band and secure with bobby pins.
