POP-ROCK
The marketers behind the Fray are no dummies: After the "How to Save a Life" tie-in with Grey's Anatomy helped spark double-platinum sales of the band's 2005 debut of the same name, they returned to ABC to launch this follow-up with first single "You Found Me" in a promo for Lost. (Get it?) But while "You Found Me" is a solid piece of piano pop, too many of the tunes on The Fray go by like background music looking for a TV show to call home. Still, there remain exceptions, such as the evocative "Ungodly Hour," perfect for the soundtrack to a rainy day.
