"I Kissed a Girl"
Unlike the male pop vocal nominees, this is a formidable group. Any of these ladies, save possibly Bareilles, would make a worthy winner. Perry and Pink, with their rock-edged hits, show that women can have just as much swagger as men. But they don't pack quite the same emotional wallop as Duffy, with her urgent plea, or Lewis, with her tender surrender. Adele, though, is the class of the field. Her smoky vocal lingers long after the song is over.
