Gary Collins Charged with Driving RV Under the Influence
If convicted of the charges – driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher – this would be Collins's third DUI offense, making jail time almost certain.
Collins's blood alcohol level was .29 after his arrest Jan. 31 – more than three times the legal limit, Senior Santa Barbara County Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter tells PEOPLE.
The former host of Hour Magazine and Home Show was arrested after officers spotted him driving the motor home "erratically" in Carpinteria, Calif., according to the California Highway Patrol.
In January 2008, Collins, 70, served four days in a Glendale, Calif., jail for what was his second DUI conviction at the time.
His arraignment is set for March 2.
A rep for Collins wasn't immediately available.
