NOVEL
Binchy's latest slice of Irish life centers on a Dublin medical clinic's doctors, staffers and patients. To a one, they possess hearts of gold. The clinic's specialty? Cardiology, of course. The novel's chipper tone can be cloying, but it's hard not to be enchanted by Binchy's myriad characters and their quests—for love, family reconciliation and peace with the past. Even the clinic's strict nutritionist would surely concede that this sweet, goopy treat of a novel is good for the literary soul.
