Tori Spelling Not in a Race with Mom Over Her Book

Tori Spelling has no beef when it comes to mom Candy's upcoming tell-all – despite reports suggesting that mother and daughter are vying to see whose memoir will hit bookstores first, according to a source close to the actress.

"As far as Tori is concerned, there is no race," says the source. "Tori wishes her mother success with her book."

The notion of any competition stemmed from the news that St. Martin's Press pushed up the publication of Stories from Candyland to March 31 after hearing that Tori's second book, Mommywood, will be released by Simon & Schuster earlier than expected, on April 14.

"Moving [Tori's] release date had nothing to do with her mother's publishing date," insists the source. "It was moved due to Mother's Day promotions."

Tori's first book, the 288-page memoir sTORI Telling, spent 19 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list last year.

The new book, Mommywood, is expected to focus on the star's life since giving birth to son Liam and daughter Stella. "This is a very different book from Candy's," adds the source. "And Tori always planned to write another one."
