Leonardo DiCaprio should prepare to be slimed.
Nickelodeon has announced the actor, 34, will be honored with the first-ever "Big Green Help Award" at Saturday's Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
The award recognizes DiCaprio's dedication as an environmental activist, as well as his inspiring work, which includes directing and producing the award-winning environmental documentary The 11th Hour, an eco-focused Web site, and a namesake foundation.
In October, the actor told PEOPLE that environmental policies are "a moral issue and a patriotic issue."
DiCaprio's longtime friend Cameron Diaz, another eco-minded star, will present the award at the ceremony, which airs live on Nickelodeon at 8p.m. ET. – Joey Bartolomeo
