Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey
Is that the pitter-patter of Cannon-Carey babies? Not quite yet, say the newlyweds.
"The public really wants us to have kids," Nick Cannon tells Extra
. "We're going to do it, and when we do it we're going to let you all know. But right now, we're trying to enjoy the newlywed aspect."
After he and wife Mariah Carey
were photographed allegedly leaving a fertility clinic in Beverly Hills last month, rumors flew that the couple were baby bound.
But Cannon laughs off the reports. "We were walking out of the office where Will Smith's office is and they were like, 'They're walking out of this clinic!'…I'm like, unless Will Smith is delivering babies on the low…"
And both and Carey are proud to have proven critics wrong who said that their marriage was wouldn't last. "First year of marriage was amazing. I'm looking forward to the second year," says Cannon. "We're proving people wrong! They said we wouldn't make it. We're making it!"
