Sharing more details about his now-rocky relationship with ex-fiancé, Bristol Palin and the Palin family for a second part of his interview with CBS's The Early Show on Thursday morning, Levi Johnston revealed that he and Bristol "talk every day, every other day" – though he admitted their conversations are limited.

"She's real short with me," Johnston told anchor Maggie Rodriguez, referring to the daughter of Alaska's governor. "You know, I call here to see how my baby's doing, that kind of thing. But we don't really sit there and talk, like, how you been?"

Levi's mother, Sherry, and sister Mercede, were also on hand during the interview to discuss Johnson's parenting skills. Calling her brother a "complete natural" at fatherhood, Mercede said it brings tears to her eyes when she sees Johnston, who said Wednesday he is only allowed to visit with his son at the Palin home, holding his 3-month-old son.

Asked how he can provide for his infant son, Johnston revealed that he is unemployed and without a "steady job right now," but that he would find a way to support his son. When Rodriguez inquired where he sees himself in five years, Johnston, an avid hunter who shot his first bear at 7, replied, "I hope that I'll be hunting with my kid. Fishing, doing something."
