Diana Palin, the half-sister of Todd Palin, pled not guilty to
burglary charges at the criminal superior courthouse in Palmer, Alaska on Monday.
Diana, 35, is facing four felony counts of burglary and theft and four misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing and theft stemming from two alleged break-ins at the same property on March 31 and April 2.
Diana has been in custody since her arrest April 2
. She was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail, The Anchorage Daily News
Police say she entered into a Wasilla home to steal money for the second time in a week but was nabbed by the armed homeowner. Then Diana's 4-year-old daughter walked into the house, police said.
Diana's husband, Scott McLean, was called by police to pick up the child after his wife's arrest.
Diana's past criminal record is largely comprised of minor traffic
violations, such as speeding and driving with an expired registration, along with several small claims judgments. She also was a petitioner in two separate domestic violence cases dating back to 1999 and 2001, involving other men.
Diana is the half-sister of Todd Palin, who is married to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. She is the daughter of Todd's father, Jim. She made her plea to judge Kari Kristiansen and has been assigned a public defender.
