Investigators have made a preliminary match between the semiautomatic gun found in alleged Craiglist killer Philip Markoff's apartment and the weapon used to kill Julissa Brisman on April 14, according to reports.

They also have fingerprint matches between Markoff and those found on plastic restraints and duct tape left at the crime scenes, the Boston Globe reports.

Markoff, 23, was put on suicide watch after a prison official found shoelace marks on his neck Thursday.

John Salsberg, Markoff's lawyer, told the Globe he had not been informed of the physical evidence linking his client to the crimes. He also would not confirm his client's suicide attempt. "It's difficult for anybody to go from a life of freedom to being detained, particularly in the first few days," Salsberg said.

The Suffolk County district attorney’s office, meanwhile, confirmed they are continuing their search for more Markoff robbery victims by posting an ad on Craigslist under adult gigs. The ad did not name Markoff.

Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk County DA Dan Conley, said a member of the office personally paid the $5 fee for posting the adult services ad so "taxpayers wouldn't shoulder the cost."

And an Augusta TV station is reporting that Morgan Houston, an ex-med school pal of Markoff's who told the New York Daily News Markoff pushed her against the wall and tried to kiss her a few years ago, has an agent, and won't do any interviews until Saturday because she is "under contract." Houston provided pictures of Markoff partying in college with her to the Daily News.
