The White Stripes drummer Meg White is engaged to guitarist Jackson Smith, the son of iconic rockers Patti Smith and Fred Smith, White's rep tells PEOPLE.

"I can confirm Meg and Jackson will be married some time this year," says the rep.

This will be White's second marriage. The musician was previously married to her White Stripes bandmate Jack White back in 1996. They divorced in 2000. Jack White married model Karen Elson in 2005. The couple have two children.

The White Stripes are currently on hiatus while Jack concentrates on the June release of his latest record with new band Dead Weather.
