A word of support for Kiefer Sutherland in tough times.
Joel Schumacher, who will direct the star in his upcoming film Twelve
, is defending Sutherland's integrity following claims the actor headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough
at a New York City party earlier this week.
"We love Kiefer," Schumacher tells PEOPLE. "He's still the voice of Nick McDonell, the author in Twelve
, which will be my fifth movie with Kiefer. And I hope there will be many more."
The movie, which will also star Chace Crawford
, Emma Roberts
, Rory Culkin, 50 Cent and Ellen Barkin, is slated to begin filming soon. It is based on a 2002 novel depicting drug use among young people on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
