He's got a thing for blondes. She's got a thing for athletes. But do Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez have a thing for each other?
The Yankees star and the actress, who attended a Yankees game Friday, were spotted getting close later that night at Mustang Grill, a Mexican restaurant in Manhattan. "We sat them in a private area of the restaurant, a private room off the main dining room," according to the restaurant's owner, Rob Olsen. "They were there for about an hour. They left around 1 a.m. They had dinner and drinks. They appeared to enjoy themselves."
According to Olsen, A-Rod frequents the Mustang Grill. "He's here a couple times a week," he says. "He comes with his buddies after the game."
The New York Post
's Page Six
reports that Hudson and Rodriguez were getting quite cozy.
Reps for both the actress and the athlete had no comment.
This is not the first time Hudson and Rodriguez have been spotted together. In November, they were seen at the grand opening of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami. "A-Rod and Kate were having a blast, flirting, laughing, and doing high-fives to each other much of the night," says a source who was at the opening dinner. "They were definitely having fun."
In February, however, Hudson was back again with boyfriend, Owen Wilson. Together in France they enjoyed bike rides, shopping and late-night dinners. Since then, though the on-again, off-again couple has split.
"For now they're off... again," a source tells PEOPLE. "It wasn't a big thing. They're great friends who slip into the dating world but they always come out of it being better friends than anything else … They'll still hang out but as far as the dating thing it's over, for now."
As for A-Rod, a source says that Hudson "went to the game [Friday night] and then they had dinner together. She's trying to be hush hush to everyone she talks to about him."
A friend of hers adds: "Maybe he is trying to get over Madonna
. She is beautiful." But maybe it's not that complicated: Another friend of hers says simply: "He's hot!"
