Chris Brown has lost his bid to delay the June 22 preliminary hearing in his assault case, the California Supreme Court has ruled. The R&B singer, 20, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting and threatening Rihanna, 21, on Feb. 8.
The preliminary hearing will determine whether enough evidence exists for the case to go to trial, and Rihanna has been subpoenaed as a witness. Brown could face up to a four-year sentence if convicted of the charges against him.
