At the family's Wernersville, Pa., home on Wednesday morning, Jon and Kate played with their kids outside, but remained chilly toward one another. Kate goofed around with her children, even riding a tricycle herself, and while Jon joined in on the fun, he and Kate did not interact much. Both Jon and Kate have pledged to focus on the needs of their eight children as they go forward with their divorce. "Our goal is to do the very best for our children," they said in a joint statement last month. Recently, the couple put their differences aside while they celebrated the Fourth of July as a family. But that was before Jon went public about his relationship with his new girlfriend Hailey Glassman, 22.
After their awkward playtime, Kate – with luggage in tow – hugged her kids goodbye and drove off, leaving Jon with the kids. (Instead of shuttling their brood between two residences, the couple take turns living at the home.)
On Wednesday, an observer reports that Jon spent a lot of time on the phone and, "looked very angry and frustrated." The family will resume filming their reality show, Jon and Kate Plus Eight Aug. 3.
