REVIEWED BY CLARISSA CRUZ
Fans of Weiner's popular oeuvre, which includes Good in Bed and In Her Shoes, will be familiar with the elements in her latest: a heroine with weight issues; her conflicted relationship with a beautiful, impulsive friend; a quietly sad family history. But that doesn't make the story any less engaging. Former bffs Addie and Val reunite after a shocking event at their 15th high school reunion forces them on the run. They try to unravel the mystery of that night while grappling with the long-ago-buried scandal that drove them apart. As always, it's Weiner's wry observations and well-drawn characters that keep the story moving.
