Britney Spears has spent the better part of her 27 years entertaining fans all across the world. So what makes the pop star's extended Circus tour so special? Two tiny fans: sons Jayden, 2, and Preston, 3, who are accompanying Mom for most of her gigs. "They love to sing and dance along to my show," says Spears. "They even worked out some really cute routines to a few of the numbers!"

When she isn't watching her sons in action, Spears, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, reveals that she's following a fairly strict schedule to keep up her energy (and keep her fit for her skimpy costumes). She sleeps most mornings until 9, then has fruit and nuts for breakfast before playing with her boys. After lunch, it's off to whatever concert venue she's performing in that night (her tour takes her to 36 cities in six months, ending in Australia Nov. 24) to rehearse new choreography and experiment with any new outfits. And while she does yoga twice daily, Spears admits that her rigorous show—she dances through much of the 90-minute set—is quite a workout, but she considers it "more of a creative outlet."

To unwind after performing, Spears treats herself to regular massages as well as dinners out with her dancers—not to mention downtime with her agent boyfriend Jason Trawick. (Despite repeated rumors—which she says are "funny to me"—Spears insists the two are not engaged.) Then, much to the star's delight, it's on to the next show. "I still get excited every night before I hit the stage," she says.
