A week after calling police with a health problem and being placed under a psychiatric hold, Mischa Barton is "making improvements" and will get back to work, her rep tells PEOPLE.
Specific details about the 23-year-old actress's condition were not available but Barton's rep says she is "still seeking treatment" and plans to return to work on the CW show The Beautiful Life, which is scheduled to begin production July 31.
Friends have said the former O.C. star is "dealing with personal issues" and has been on "a destructive path" for a while.
According to a source, Barton has now left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where last week she was placed under a psychiatric evaluation, known as a 5150 hold.
