Days after Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush announced their split, a video has emerged that shows the couple in happier times. Earlier this month, Kardashian and Bush flew to Botswana and South Africa on behalf of Russell Simmons's Diamond Empowerment Fund. (Also accompanying the couple: Bush's mother and Kardashian's sister, Khloe.) While in Africa, Kardashian and Bush visited schools, social programs and diamond sites.
Bush and Kardashian don't interact on film, but they both seem overwhelmed by the sights of Africa. They are seen playing with children in a village, handing out food and supplies, and even visiting a diamond mine.
"Russell's advice was just take it all in," says Kardashian after seeing school children singing, "to experience what these children have to offer you. They're going to be so open and welcoming and loving, and all of that has proven to be so true."
The Diamond Empowerment Fund was started in 2007 by Russell Simmons to raise money and awareness for Africa's poor.
