Britney Spears to Receive Ultimate Choice Award at Teen Choice

Britney Spears is taking a break from her Circus tour in Europe to return to the States where she will receive a special award at this year's Teen Choice 2009.

Spears, the female artist with the most Teen Choice surfboard awards, will be honored with the ultimate choice award for her "extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry," FOX says in a statement.

Spears is nominated for three awards – choice music single, choice female artist, choice music tour – and is up against stars like Cyrus, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Kelly Clarkson.

Teen Choice Awards 2009, hosted by the Jonas Brothers, airs on FOX Monday, Aug. 10, at 8 p.m.
