• Janet Jackson, grabbing cocktails with five girlfriends at Katsuya Brentwood. The singer enjoyed grapefruit cosmos and some sushi during her night out. "[Her pals] seemed to be trying to cheer her up and just have a good time," an onlooker tells us. The singer was "very sweet," the onlooker says, adding that she snapped pictures with fans.
• Meanwhile, in Chicago, Jermaine Dupri partied solo at the Underground, where the producer deejayed a Hornitos-sponsored bash. Dupri emceed for most of the night and peppered his set with some Michael Jackson hits. Earlier in the evening he was spotted eating rock shrimp tempura at Sunda.
• Jennifer Garner, hiking with her former Alias costar Victor Garber near his Pacific Palisades, Calif., home. After their exercise, the two met up with Garner's 3-year-old daughter Violet for lunch at Toscana in Brentwood. "Violet kept chatting with Victor," an eyewitness tells us.
• Chace Crawford, tucking into some steak plus a side of mac and cheese at STK in Los Angeles. The Gossip guy sported a black polo shirt and jeans and enjoyed a bottle of Pinot Grigio with his meal.
