• Brody Jenner spent his actual 26th birthday – Aug. 21 – in the hospital, so on Tuesday the Hills star threw himself a belated celebration at brand-new L.A. club Mi-6. Jenner and his guests – including best pal Frankie Delgado and, briefly, stepsister Khloe Kardashian – took over an upstairs table, where the reality star bounced up and down to live performances by rapper Too $hort and Dirt Nasty (a.k.a. actor Simon Rex). Jenner was loving the musical attention, especially as the acts would call out his name during their songs, and also perked up when waitresses brought over vodka, champagne, sparklers and a cake while the entire club treated him to a "Happy Birthday" serenade.

• Looking a bit tanner and blonder in cutoff jean shorts, a white blouse and flip flops, LeAnn Rimes dropped by her favorite L.A. sushi spot, Takao, for takeout. There solo, the country singer smiled pleasantly, a fellow diner says, while she waited for her order.

• In town for the US Open, Serena Williams enjoyed a relaxing dinner at Porto Vivo in Huntington, N.Y., with sister Isha, her manager and Home Shopping Network star Joy Mangano, who co-owns the new restaurant. "Serena was relaxed," a source says, noting that she ate steamed littleneck clams and grilled Bronzino. She also passed up wine, opting for water in advance of her tennis matches.

• Shenae Grimes, treating a friend to dinner at STK in Los Angeles. Despite the light meal – the 90210 star ordered veggie sides and water – the actress left room for dessert: a chocolate chip cookie!

• Oops! Former Dancing with the Stars contestant Gilles Marini was assigned the same seat at the Daytime Emmys Awards as The Insider's Lara Spencer. Making light of the situation, an audience member joked "Why not just sit on his lap?", a source tells us. But no doubling up was necessary: Event organizers quickly found Spencer a new seat.
