If you're going to name your son Sparrow, what better way to share the joy than to Tweet about him on Twitter?

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have taken to the social-networking service to gush over their newest addition, Sparrow James Midnight Madden, born Wednesday.

"Geuss who's back ... Oh i'm sorry we were only having a little baby boy," Madden, 30, wrote Wednesday morning.

Two hours later, he boasted about his newborn's early achievements.

"1st day of his life & my son is already a trending topic on twitter," the proud papa, 30, wrote. "That's right son, ur just like your old man."

"What a great day to come back on Twitter," Richie, 27, wrote. "Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I love my family!!"
