The good news for NFL star Hank Baskett is that now he can spend a lot more time with his pregnant wife Kendra Wilkinson.
The bad news? He's out of a job.
The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Tuesday they had cut Baskett, 27, from their 53-man roster, a move that makes room for controversial quarterback Michael Vick.
Reached by the Philadelphia Inquirer after the news broke, Baskett responded: "I'm not speaking about it."
Baskett was released despite having had his best season ever in 2008, with 33 catches and three touchdowns.
Vick, however, is considered a stronger offensive player. The star quarterback, 29, last played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2007, but was let go after he was sentenced to 18 months in a federal penitentiary for organizing a dogfighting ring. He is set to begin practicing with the team today.
Baskett and Wilkinson are expecting a boy on Christmas Day.
