• Days after her moving tribute to her brother at the MTV Video Music Awards, Janet Jackson went clubbing with some friends at Greenhouse in New York. According to an eyewitness, the singer "seemed [to be] in a great mood" and was "chatty" as she danced around a little and hung out with her dancers and choreographers. And Jackson wasn't drinking alcohol: According to the source, she stuck to Ice River Springs water.

• Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper were joined for lunch at The Mill Marine Bistro, Pub and Dock in Vancouver by Ryan Reynolds and another friend. The group enjoyed their late lunch on the patio and seemed to be catching up with each other. Cooper, meanwhile, would stroke his girlfriend's arm but never kissed her at the table.

• Benji Madden had a guys' night out at MI-6 in West Hollywood, where he and five guy friends headed upstairs right away. After ordering some vodka and mixers, the group decided to move to a bigger table downstairs, closer to the deejay booth. Once they relocated, Madden seemed much happier, texting on his phone and showing friends photos on it. He also danced and chatted up female clubgoers, even inviting them to join his table. Also there: Lamar Odom, who hung out sans girlfriend Khloe Kardashian.

• Wandering the magazines stalls trying to appease his wailing daughter Francesca, 2, Jason Bateman was dressed in jeans and sneakers as he was waiting for an outbound flight out of Los Angeles International Airport.

• Jenna Dewan, getting pampered at the Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic in Beverly Hills. The newlywed was gushing about her July wedding to Channing Tatum at the clinic's Red Carpet Beauty Boot Camp, where she got an oxygen facial and a diamond peel. "She was saying how it was the best day ever – how she was floating on a cloud and didn't want it to end," says an observer. "She was adorable and sweet."
