REALITY
Sort of like Wipeout with wheels, Crash Course puts two-member teams—siblings, pals, roomies—behind the steering wheel for a string of dangerous-looking stunts. In the premiere, one involved dodging rolling barrels while trying to drive up a ramp onto the flatbed of a moving truck. Dan Cortese, who cohosts and co-wisecracks with Orlando Jones, helpfully noted that the cars are reinforced to withstand maximum impact. But that didn't really add much pleasure to watching cars fly out of control like blooper footage from The Fast and the Furious. As one couple crawled out of their overturned wreck, Jones said, "Now I can go back to making fun of them."
