Dennis Hopper is "feeling much better" after being rushed to a New York City emergency room on Wednesday for a stomach aliment, his manager tells PEOPLE.

The actor, 73, who was suffering severe flu-like symptoms was treated for dehydration but is "now back in his hotel room and feeling much better," manager Sam Maydew says in a statement.

His rep, Sheila Feren, told the Associated press Wednesday that Hopper had been forced to cancel interview appearances to promote his new Starz series Crash.
