"I think you're defeated. You need to pull yourself up from your bootstraps and get back to your kids and get your crap together," Frankel tells the embattled reality TV dad on The Insider in a segment they taped together to air Tuesday. "You need to pull it together."
Referring perhaps to his summertime trip to St. Tropez with 22-year-old girlfriend Hailey Glassman and alleged brief romance with a tabloid reporter after his split from wife Kate Gosselin, Frankel adds, "It looks like you went through a rebellious phase."
Jon responds, "Of course. I went from [age] 32 to 23. My therapist has told me that. My therapist told me I went from 32 to 23."
As for the future of the family's TLC reality show, Gosselin reiterates his desire to put an end to filming. "I don't care if [my kids] hate me, because I know what is best for my kids. I will pull them off [the show]."
Kate has strongly refuted Jon's claims that the show is harmful to their eight children.
"I told the kids over the weekend that we weren't filming," Kate said Monday on the Today show. "Times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love the crew, they love the interaction, they love the events. It is not harmful to them. They are angry."
