Amy Mickelson Surprises Husband Phil at Golf Tournament

Amy Mickelson gave her husband, golfer Phil Mickelson, a nice surprise Saturday when she showed up in San Francisco for the final rounds of the President’s Cup, a team competition that pits the best U.S. golfers against top competitors from around the world.

The outing was Mickelson's first visit to a tournament since she was diagnosed with breast cancer over the summer. She is reportedly responding well to treatment.

According to reports, Mickelson was greeted by Amy at the team hotel after he returned from Saturday’s matches.

And perhaps Amy was a good luck charm. On Sunday, the U.S. won the tournament. Going into the final rounds, Mickelson had three wins and a tie in the team events.

Last month, Mickelson beat Tiger Woods in the Tour Championship in Atlanta – his first win since his wife's cancer diagnosis. Mickelson's mother was also diagnosed with breast cancer in July. "We've been through a lot," he told reporters at the time, "and I'm very proud of my wife and my mom on the fight that they've been through."
