Like father, like daughter.
Ivanka Trump plans on following her famous father's path to success. Trump, 27, who will marry
boyfriend Jared Kushner, 28, publisher of the New York Observer
, in two weeks, admits she works long hours that keep her on the road for days at a time.
Even if that means putting off starting the next generation of Trumps.
"When our time to have a family comes around, I know I will compromise," Trump, a bigwig in her father's company
, tells PEOPLE. "I am not there yet!"
"Jared and I both work long hours," Trump explains. "He is successful in his own right and very active in his work. Like my father, he encourages me to follow my passion for real estate."
Although Trump is keeping details of her Oct. 25 wedding quiet, sources say the couple have a private ceremony planned for 500 guests at Donald Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. Wedding planner Preston Bailey, who handled details for Donald and Melania Trump’s wedding
at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., is creating the reception.
Yet tying the knot does not mean an immediate change in lifestyle for this workhorse.
For example, just two weeks after the wedding, Trump, also a jewelry designer and boardroom judge for Celebrity Apprentice
, will be on the scene to open one of her pet projects, the Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki in Honololu, Hawaii.
"Of course I will be there," Trump tells PEOPLE. "Trump hotels are the focus of what I do. Jared is not intimidated by my work, he is incredibly busy, too."
She had a strong model to emulate.
"My parents have both led nontraditional lifestyle – but they have extremely traditional relationships with their children," the onetime model writes in her new book,The Trump Card, Playing To Win In Work And Life
, out Tuesday. "They might have taken me to boxing matches or trips around the word but at the end of the day they were always my parents, not my best friends."
