>• The actor, 50, who reprises his role as Dr. Michael Mancini on the revamped Melrose Place, talks about returning to his old haunt.

WHO DID YOU THINK WOULD BE BACK FROM THE ORIGINAL CAST? The obvious first choice was Heather [Locklear], but I thought I'd be on the top of the list. Not because I'm a great actor, but because of what Michael represented.

WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO THE NEWS THAT HEATHER IS RETURNING TOO, BEGINNING ON THE NOV. 17 EPISODE? That she would do anything to work with me again! [laughs] Heather's a total pro and a never-ending delight.

YOU LOOK GREAT. HOW DO YOU STAY FIT? I do yoga, and I love hanging out with my three kids and doing childlike things.

DO YOUR KIDS COMPARE YOU TO MICHAEL MANCINI? They're glad I'm not that mean. Mostly, they're super thrilled to meet other CW stars, especially from 90210.

WHAT'S THE BEST PART ABOUT BEING BAD? It's fun doing stuff to people. And the more fun I have, the more evil it makes me!
