• They can both carry a tune – but Emmy Rossum and boyfriend Adam Duritz missed the chance to become duet partners in Savannah, Ga. The two were in town for the Savannah Film Festival and headed over to McDonough's, which is famous for karaoke, but a source reveals that "the karaoke manager said there was a long list of people who were going to sing and that the list was closed." Duritz and Rossum laughed the whole thing off – plus, Rossum was already making music before receiving the Young Hollywood award at the Savannah College of Art and Design that night. "She was singing in the green room, " the source says, "which made [Adam] laugh."

• Halle Berry, holding hands with Gabriel Aubry during a shoe shopping trip to New York's Bergdorf Goodman. The actress kept her sunglasses on as she browsed – then left with a pair of black suede Giuseppe Zanotti boots.

• Also on a shopping spree: Isla Fisher, who spent almost $900 at L.A.'s Trina Turk boutique. Among her purchases, the actress scooped up a pair of black jegging pants ($212) and a cardigan ($228).

• Leighton Meester, mingling with guests like Barbara Walters and Billy Crudup at the New York Public Library's 2009 Young Lions gala. After the dinner, the Gossip Girl star, who attended with dapper beau Sebastian Stan, headed downstairs to a dance party with young library donors and music spun by DJ Cassidy.

• Kara DioGuardi, lounging by the adults-only Hibiscus Pool while vacationing at the Grand Wailea in Maui with husband Mike McCuddy. The duo also dined at the resort's floating Humu Humu resort, where the American Idol judge ordered the grilled Ahi tuna rare.
