Taylor Lautner's werewolf is pretty tough, but the Twilight star's likely next role is a guy who can really take care of himself. Paramount confirms that Lautner, 17, is attached to bring to life Max Steel, an animated superhero and action figure from Mattel.

Lautner, who already bears a strong resemblance to the CGI version of Max, was very taken with the character, who gets his powers from – well, it's complicated (something about being infected with microscopic "nano-machines" and drinking "T-juice.")

Although Lautner is "committed to the role," a source tells PEOPLE, the movie still has no director and no timeline, but as a high-priority project, look for it to be getting underway quickly.
