"He had never mentioned his wife," Grubbs, 24, tells Extra.
And when the subject of Woods's personal life did come up, it seemed mostly like he regarded his family as a hindrance, at least according to old text messages allegedly between the two that were broadcast on Thursday morning's Today show.
"Hey, sexy, I can't come out this week. Something came up family wise," Woods, now 33, writes.
"I hope everything is fine," responds Grubbs, who has since issued an apology to Nordegren. "l would have liked to see you."
"We will make this happen," Woods says.
Later, the two schedule an assignation, but Woods reminds her of the subterfuge involved.
"See you 8pm on Sunday in Newport," he writes.
He then adds: "Don't text me back till tomorrow morning. I have to [sic] many people around me right now."
Woods recently apologized for what he termed his "sins," but the controversy around the athlete with a once squeaky-clean image has only grown as more and more reported mistresses come out of the woodwork. The future of his marriage and lucrative endorsements are now up in the air.
